NEW COFFEE FESTIVAL SET TO STIR UP THE KENT COFFEE COMMUNITY




A new coffee festival is set to stir up the Kent coffee community. The Kent Coffee Festival will celebrate all things coffee, providing fresh inspiration and talking points for coffee professionals, baristas, hospitality venue owners and coffee enthusiasts.


The first Kent Coffee Festival, in partnership with headline sponsors La Marzocco, will open exclusively for trade visitors on Friday 27th August from 12pm until 5.30pm at The Gulbenkian theatre at the University of Kent, Canterbury. On Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th August the festival will open its doors to consumers with the event expected to attract in the region of 1500 coffee lovers.

Free to attend for industry professionals on Friday 27 August, the event’s dynamic line-up of exhibitors and attractions will showcase new ideas for delivering the ultimate coffee experience. Attractions include:


· A showstopping Latte Art Zone

· A Coffee Roaster Zone, where you can discover the ultimate single origin or the perfect blend

· A speaker stage hosting a series of lively talks and interviews from scaling up your coffee business to tips on launching a trailblazing career in the coffee world

· An Espresso Martini Bar allowing you to slip away from it all, sit back and sip.


Some of the exhibitors confirmed to appear at the festival include: La Marzocco, Glebe Farm Foods, Ecoffee Cup, Curve Roasters, Chai Wallah Margate, Garage Coffee, Henny and Joe’s, Bean Smitten, Simply Ice Cream and BWT UK.


Event organiser Luke Underdown, founder of Canterbury-based Garage Coffee says: “As part of my own journey from coffee enthusiast to starting my own coffee business, I was Inspired by events like the London Coffee Festival. I wanted to recreate something for the Kent coffee community, as there is so much to shout about when it comes to the Kent coffee scene.


“The festival is about providing a complete coffee experience, bringing together all of the passion and expertise of local coffee professionals and amateur enthusiasts, at the same time as giving a leg up to those who are set on a career in coffee.”
